Financial Literacy is not about money; it is about empowerment.
We know that having a young family often brings with it financial worries and that these worries can lead to relationship breakdown, ongoing stress, poor (desperate) decision making and in general can affect the well being of the family.
We also know that Family Resource Programs (FRPs) are trusted sources of information and support for families especially those who may be more vulnerable. The relationship between family support practitioners and parents is significant, influential and motivating. The peer support and modelling available at FRPs is also of value when addressing life issues that directly affect parenting and familial well-being.
The goal of the webinar is to increase the capacity of family support practitioners to impart basic financial literacy information and resources to the families that they serve.
