Our Annual Bake Sale is Happening NOW!


Bring your cash to the Family Centre and take home some tasty treats made by your friends! Many items are only $1 each! Also, the lovely folks at Aspen Clean have donated a two hour house cleaning session. You can purchase a raffle ticket to win this amazing prize at the bake sale and at our Winter Celebration Party next week! Tickets are $5. All proceeds from the bake sale and raffle go toward our Winter Celebration Party.

November 30 - December 3: during all drop-in sessions Annual Bake Sale Bring your cash and purchase tasty treats made by your friends. All proceeds go toward our Winter Celebration Party
December 10, Thursday: 10 AM - 1 PM Winter Celebration Party Join us at the Mt. Pleasant Neighbourhood House (800 East Broadway). The Family Drop-In will beCLOSED this morning, but the Baby Drop-In will be OPEN this afternoon.
December 4 - 18, Fridays: 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM Making Sense of Preschoolers Gordon Neufeld provides insight into their shyness, separation anxieties, aggression, resistance, oppositionality and more. Making sense of these confusing yet wondrous creatures lays the foundation for intuitive and fruitful interaction with them.
December 24 - January 4: The Family Centre will be closed for Winter Holidays.We will reopen Tuesday, January 5.

January 5, Tuesday: Welcome Back!
January 8 & 15, Friday: 9:30 - 11:30 AM Family Daycare Mornings Family daycare providers are welcome to bring their kids for two special mornings of playtime just for them! Please sign up in advance with Ewa or Maria.
January 22 - February 26, Fridays: 9:30 - 11:30 AM Nobody's Perfect This parent support education group allows parents to get a better understanding of their children's development, meet other parents and share ideas. Childcare is available for children who will be happy with staff in the playroom for the 2 hr program. Ask staff for more info and to sign up. This program is free for members
End of January, Saturdays:10 - 11:30 AM 1-2-3 Jump! Physical Literacy for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 yr olds. Have fun with your child moving and learning in new ways. Registration is required.The program is offered free in partnership with Little Mountain Neighbourhood House. We ask that you have a current Family Centre membership to participate. More details coming soon! To register, please speak with Flora.

Even in December,Your Membership STILL Counts!
Annual memberships expire at the end of April, and cost $45 per year. Membership fees are a much needed part of our annual revenue and help fund our Family Drop In program, parent education, workshops, special events and seasonal celebrations.

Membership is an integral part of community participation and an effective way to contribute to our sustainability. A Family Membership at the MPFCS is $45.00. If you renew in December, that's approximately $2.25 per week.

If you did not have a membership last year, please go directly to our membership page. To renew your membership please go to CanadaHelps.org. When you visit the Family Centre, you can pay using cash, credit card, or cheque. Please speak to one of our Family Support Workers and they will help you.

Family Day Care Providers and Nannies are asked to request parents of the children in their care to purchase a MPFCS membership

We are a non-profit society offering a range of resources and services for parents, caregivers and their young children, pre-birth to 6 years. A Home Away From Home, Mount Pleasant Family Centre is a place for families with young children to drop in, make new friends, learn new skills and receive support in times of need.

Mount Pleasant Family Centre invites families with children 0 to 6 years old to become a member. Members are entitled to free drop-in programming, a supervised playroom, a comfortable space for adults to talk and meet other parents and caregivers, and much more.
