Karen Lucke

Project Manager

Board of Directors: Chair

Bio Karen holds an MBA with a specialty in Marketing and Leadership. She is a business consultant whose practice focuses on working with organizations to improve the tools and processes for capturing and retaining knowledge. She has also worked in the not-for-profit sector, delivering a business course to individuals impacted by unemployment or, in some cases, loss of their entire economic framework. Four years ago, Karen was introduced to the Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society and she quickly became an engaged supporter of the programs and services the Society offers to families in the community. As a member of Board for the past four years (and this year's Board Chair), Karen is proud to see the growth and accomplishments of the Society and is excited about helping the Society continue to fulfill it's mandate to serve the families of the Mount Pleasant community and the families of immigrants and refugees with young children."

Lisa Marcos

Four Years on the Board of Directors

Lisa has a passion for Experiential Education, which has brought her to a wide variety of teaching experiences around the globe. Her high-school Biology classes have taken place in the cloud forests of Colombia, urban parks in Taiwan, peat bogs in the Bay of Fundy and even from the deck of a tall ship during a two-year circumnavigation of the world with Class Afloat. Now at home in Mount Pleasant, she and her two young children have been busily exploring what it means to strengthen connections within the local community. As a parent who knows the value of the Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society programs first-hand, Lisa has used her international and local experiences with families to help support the MPFCS on the Board of Directors since 2013.

Anthony Fast

Client Care Specialist

First Year on the Board of Directors

Bio Before and during university, Anthony Fast worked with families and children during his summers working at a community daycare, and helped first-year students transition to university life through his work with University of Victoria Residence Life & Education. After starting a job at Credit Counselling Society, Anthony began volunteering as a board member for the Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society in 2016 to pursue his passion for creating connections and building a supportive community. One of the reasons Anthony loves living in Vancouver is for the outdoor activities available in and around the city; never discouraged by a bit of rain, Anthony enjoys hiking, biking, and skiing in his spare time
