Drop-in Play and Learn Program
During
our drop-in, the Mount Pleasant Family Centre offers a well planned and
equipped playroom with a range of toys
and activities to encourage kids to learn in all sorts of ways as they play –
the baby corner, puzzles and shapes for toddlers’ small hands, play dough,
water/sand play, a craft table, books, dress-up and housekeeping corner for
imaginative play and so on…..;
Each session includes a family circle time for all parents and children, with
songs and books and a shared fruit snack; morning sessions are (if weather
permits) rounded off with outside play – bikes, push and riding toys and
sandbox for the development of strong muscles, physical coordination and
confidence.
We also offer an adult
lounge where parents may take some time out to meet other parents over a
cup of tea or coffee, relax, browse through our resource library, check out
the clothing exchange and community bulletin board or join in informal
discussions over a variety of topics. There’s always a hot topic when you have
a young family!
A qualified staff team in both playroom and
adult areas, specializes in the interests, challenges and needs of families
with babies, toddlers and pre-school age children.
