June 4, Monday, AM Drop-In:Storytime with the VPL Librarian Come meet our librarian and enjoy songs, rhymes, and stories!
June 12, Tuesday: Both Morning & Afternoon Drop-In Graduation Day We celebrate all the children who will be attending Kindergarten this fall! A ceremony will be held and each child will be recognized. The Drop-In will remain open to the public, but play time will be shorter. This might not be the best day for families with very small children to attend. For more details, please talk to Maria or Ewa.
June 15 & 22, Fridays: 9:30 - 11:30 AM Family Drop-In  All families are welcome to bring their kids for extra mornings of playtime!
June 21, Thursday:National Aboriginal Day FAMILY & BABY DROP-IN WILL BE CLOSED ON THIS DAY. Families are encouraged to meet us at the following sites:
10 AM Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre - 1607 East Hastings Street
12 PM Trout Lake - John Hendry Park (Victoria Drive between 13th Ave & 19th Ave) at the Main Stage. For more information on the event, CLICK HERE
June 29, Friday: 10 AM - 1 PM Canada Day Celebration Join us in our annual celebration of Canada Day! Crafts, face painting, and entertainment are just some of the fun festivities. Bring your own lunch and a picnic blanket.

We are seeking new board members!  It is a great way to contribute to your community while gaining hands-on experience in a variety of leadership roles. Welcome Summer Student!

My name is Reneet Dhillon and I am going into my third year  of a Political Science major and have future aspirations to attend law  school.  My hobbies include playing and coaching soccer, photography, and volunteering with many local organizations. In addition to English, I also speak Punjabi, Hindi, and French. I am very excited to be a co-op  student with the Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society. Reneet will be here from June 4 - August 31. Please welcome her to our centre! 

Membership Update & Draw
Thank you to all our families who have purchased or renewed their memberships in the month of May!  
If you have purchased a membership in May or June, your name will be entered to win 4 general admission tickets to the Vancouver Aquarium. Draw will happen at our Canada Event on June 29. Good luck to everyone! 
OUR GOAL 333 families to purchase/renew their membership
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP  $45 (valid from May 2018 - April 30, 2019). We accept cash, credit or cheque. For more information, please talk to any staff at the Family Centre.

New Playground Equipment!
We will be adding some new playground equipment soon! The tentative dates for installation is June 11, 12 & 13. On these days, the playground will be closed off in order to put in the new items. We will keep you posted on the exact dates once confirmed. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

July 20 - August 31, Fridays: 9:30 - 11:30 AM Making Sense of Preschoolers Gordon Neufeld provides insight into their shyness, separation anxieties, aggression, resistance, oppositionality and more. Making sense of these confusing yet wondrous creatures lays the foundation for intuitive and rewarding parenting. A current Family Centre membership is required. Cost for the program is $70. For more information, contact Flora.

Mount Pleasant Family Centre invites families with children 0 to 6 years old to become a member. Members are entitled to free drop-in programming, a supervised playroom, a comfortable space for adults to talk and meet other parents and caregivers, and much more.
